    Well, I have GERD and have had it for many years. Don’t know how I got it especially since I am a healthy eater: no red meat, no msg, no dairy, no pop, light on starches, eat lots of fruits and vegees. I suppose no one is exempt, but I believe how you eat is the key. Sometimes it is inherited if you have other autoimmune diseases such as fibromyalgia, sjorgrens, etc. I have both of those too. So, not really sure what the deal is. What I do know is that I have to watch what I eat. Stay away from caffein products, liquor, heavy foods, pizzas, etc (all the fried foods). I currently take OTC prevacid, and they help (somewhat). If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

      I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had to put up with GERD. Whilst diet is a potential trigger there are many causes and triggers. We would encourage you to consult your GP/family physician to rule out other possbile causes.
